This is Christ’s church.
There is a place for you here.
We are the church that shares a living, daring confidence in God’s grace. Liberated by our faith, we embrace you as a whole person — questions, complexities and all. Join us as we do God’s work in Christ’s name for the life of the world.
SW PA SYNOD VISION STATEMENT
We are the baptized children of God – united in the Gospel – which is the good news of God’s salvation in Jesus Christ. We are rooted in God’s Word and Sacraments and united together for the sake of Christ’s mission. We are sent by the Gospel to serve and witness to the world.
Supported by the Holy Spirit, we offer care for one another – and our cooperation with one another – as we work together in order to fulfill the calling that we have been given – to be the Church in mission. This we do with joy and thanksgiving as we share our lives and our gifts for the sake of Christ and His Church.
W/ELCA – Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America
What is W/ELCA? It’s an easy way to say Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. Quite a mouthful, we know. Our organization includes Lutheran women who gather in over 7,000 locations in the U.S. and the Caribbean, for service, study, advocacy, fellowship and more! W/ELCA embraces all kinds of ministries that support our mission of mobilizing women to act boldly on their faith in Jesus Christ. There is a place for you in Women of the ELCA.
The Good Shepherd Women of the ELCA-(W/ELCA) meets at least six times a year. W/ELCA’s purpose is to encourage women of all ages to grow in faith, affirm their individual gifts, support one another in their callings and engage in active ministry within and outside the church. Gatherings include Bible studies as well as social events such as dinners with guest speakers, teas, and an annual dinner theater outing. Our on-going projects include making cheer baskets for homebound members and supplying both financially and with tangible items for designated Christian and Church-wide non-profit organizations. Women are invited to attend all gatherings as their schedule allows. Meetings and events are advertised in weekly bulletins and monthly newsletters.

PAL’s purpose is for fellowship, spiritual growth and service to the Good Shepherd congregation and the community. The Men’s fellowship group supports the ministries of Good Shepherd where needed.
